I'll be in the bay area next week. California! I'll be helping and assisting a shoot with my cousin from Our Digital Studio. I will really pray for this trip to go well, and smooth because my heart would really break if I disappointed anyone when visiting there. The last thing I want to do is act weird, which is not COOL!! Just have to be focused and really pay attention to every detail of instructions being given to me. Gotta get my mind healthy enough to work healthy, so that I can also neatly produce my own shots, while assisting. God bless us in this shoot!

New Year's Eve

The whole family will be spending our New Year's eve with family and friends from California, who are flying their way here to Vegas. Exciting! And what's exciting is the kids little dance performance that I helped coordinate. Tnx youtube! haha :) But, we'll see if the kids are really up to it and me! But this is all for fun and entertainment for the new year, so I'm actually curious how it will go! It'll be embarrassing, but at least its something fun. By the way, we are dancing one of the famous culture dance in the Philippines, so, it'll be funny and again, entertaining. Can't wait for this family gathering, it'll be a big one! Happy New Year!

Help as much as we can for the victims of typhoon Sendong in Iligan and Cagayan De Oro, northern Mindanao in the Philippines.

Glad that my family and relatives are sending relief goods and clothing for all that lost their houses, and means of livelihood, but most of all loved ones. Sending love and prayer to all those affected by this terrible disaster. One for my hometown. One for Iligan and CDO. Mabuhay and God bless. Don't lose hope, stay strong!

Bagyong Sendong hits my hometown, Iligan City

I was browsing through my facebook page, when I came upon my cousins status update saying, "a a massive typhoon just hit Iligan City" and a link below. But before I could open up the link, I kept thinking to myself, "I hope my grandma and all the rest of my relatives in Iligan are alright." With a worried face. Then I clicked on the link. Thanks to my cousin, ate cherry for the update.

The photos where sure enough to be Iligan city, my hometown. Browsing through the pictures, I was overwhelmed by stress and sadness because of the unimaginable scene that was captured by the photographer. There were houses being flooded, perhaps, some destroyed, garbage were everywhere and most of all, the most horrifying scenes were the bodies that are laid down on the ground being covered with sheets and blankets. People flock this very scene, some were crying, perhaps one of them was their relatives. This is a very tragic event and my heart goes out to all those who have lost their loved ones. Things like these, I don't usually hear or see things like this happening in my hometown, but life can bring you unexpected things, good and bad. It's a very sad casualties that took place in the process of bagyong Sendong. I hope my family are alright, safe and well.

Although, this year-end came with a sad events, I wish everyone a safe and joyful year as we approach the end of 2011.And despite the hard times everyone's been going through, may we grow, learn, and hope to pray even more, as we know that we do not hold our own future, as it is unknown, but let us never give up the will to survive, live and breathe as if it was our last. God bless!

After this year is over, I have 1 1/2 left of school at Ashford University. The classes are getting challenging everyday and harder. I hope I can really make it through. Please dear God, please help me make it through, so that I can FINALLY really help my parents and my sisters. That is all my want naman talaga, eh, and also so that my life can really begin.

And as for love life. I'm not really putting all my attention into that right now and may be even after because for me, gusto ko talaga mAy ipag mamalaki ako sarili ko at sa kanya, whoever he may be. I want to be stable first and focus my attention to my family until they say, tama na, pwede kanang humanap ng sa sarili mo at sa buhay, kung ano man yon. Go, give yourself a chance to be happy because you made us happy. Meaning, if my family say's they're ready for me to venture out on my own and sense that I have that maturity and the true responsibility in me, then okay, I'll be ready as well.

But, as of now, I really don't have the time nor the ability to be in a relationship, because I think its such a big responsibility and because I still consider myself a bit of an unorganized and emotionally naive kind of person. I would feel undeniably childish and immature and I think that's unfair to the other person and to the relationship you're trying to bring and give to one another. So, for me, I just want to exercise being a young woman, practice responsibility and maturity on my own so that in the end, I will at least know what I really want in life and in a man. And also because I'm not the type of woman who likes to exchange many suitors. I'm a one man woman. In other words, my heart is respectively reserved for God's chosen one.

Yesterday, I had the urge in doing a photo shoot after collecting some photos from the Philippines famous clothing brands, Penshoppe & Bench. It made me realize how I really miss doing modeling shoots. So, I asked my sister's kids to model for me, in which they reluctantly said Yeah, I want to do it! So, here they are, some head shots, but I still want my photos to say, Wow, OMG, Awesome! I want my photos to have more than a content in it. I want amazing and wonderful. I have so many creative ideas for a shoot, but at times I am having a hard time fulfilling them. But I will not fret, because I am still willing to learn,in terms of posing people in the way I want to for the sake of a great creative photograph.

Hey guys, what's happening? I really miss being here, and blogging about things. Hopefully I will be able to share some stories along with some pictures of what's been up lately for me these past few months. But I do have some good news, I was recently hired to be the second photographer for Our Digital Studio. Awesome ain't it? I hope that I can bring good values to the team and learn more as I work along side the ODS man himself, but I won't be schedule to work until January of next year, 2012. Its going to be a very productive year for me.

The ODS team did have some clients that had their family portraits taken. I did all I could to spread the word about ODS and found that there are some who might be interested in getting their engagement done by ODS, but we'll see how it goes.

3rd Annual Filipino Festival 2011

On June 4, 2011 the Filipino community held their 3rd Annual Filipino Festival near by mall the Boulevard Mall here in Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas, NV . This is the first time my family and I attended this festival and it was overwhelming to see all our kababayans or country men and women that supported this grand event.

Though there were many perfromers, there were two performers we were anticipating to see, The Jabbawockeez from 1st season champions of ABDC, also known as America's Best Dance Crew, who now holds their own show at the Monte Carlo hotel and casino every month. And the Philippines nighting gale, Miss Lani Misalucha, who also holds her own show at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino every night.

The event had was a nonstop entertainment show, that kept everyone, despite the hot weather, happy and excited. It was very pleasant, although some had to stand for hours (like me) because of the limited seats that they had, but did not mind it as long as they were able to see the show, it was all good.

The event is said to be done at 12 am and supposedly had other performers performing, but for my family and I, the only highlight were just the JABBAWOCKEEZs and Lani Misalucha and oh, I almost forgot, the Japanese performers, The Matsuri.

The Matsuri, also had an amazing act before them. They were very talented in doing many things, like doing Yoyo tricks, magic tricks and acrobatics. I had video some of their performances, which I will post later (because I just came from the event and I am so tired.)

Anywho, the Matsuri's performances was astonishing. My first time seeing a Japanese performers, and I must say, they do kind of look like the one from anime books (referring to their clothing ware and hairstyle.) But, they were mostly very humble and thankful to the Filipino community for letting them perform at the event.

After seeing most all of the performers ( I was not able to see all of the performers because it was getting late and I have been at the event since 11 am. Don't want to be there until 12 am. That's too much.) My sister and I decided to head home at 8:33 pm. We were sored from head to toe... from having a good time, that is.

iPhone or Blackberry

So, apparently, I'm need of a new phone because the one that I have right now is not working properly. i.e, ringer and sending messages is late in receiving or sending and I want apps and maybe games on my phone, which it doesn't have. It's basically old and broken.

And right now, I am searching for new phones to buy, and found two great ones that is suited for my needs and taste; the iPhone 4g or the Blackberry torch. They both consist great quality of service and mobility satisfaction.

Everyone in my family has iPhone 3gs and I've used it some of the time and found it very entertaining, but somehow, I want to differ from them so that I won't get bored with having the same thing. I've always wanted an iPhone, but ever since my family got it, I became tired of seeing the same phones in the house. I want something new, sleek, as much fun as the iPhone then I thought about the Blackberry.

I've researched the blackberry and its performance capability, pretty neat and amusing, I must say. I've wanted a blackberry ever since it came out and have never taken my eyes off of it. And after reviewing both, the comparison was immensely tie. Both performance in service quality and app ability was fantastic even though both also had flaws to their character, they still showed greatness to their quality and performance uses. As much as I want an iPhone, the lust for a blackberry is there and I think I just may have chosen my phone. Blackberry it is, Blackberry torch. it'll be worth it.

The essence of Different...

Today I was looking at people's photographs and literally, see almost the exact same style of photography, either it'd be in Wedding, Portraits, and or just ordinary photos taken by ordinary people. But the thing that got me was that, every time I look at those particular photos, I would get this notion that I'm not as impressed as the first day I discovered those type of style in photography because you've already seen it in either someone else's work who have choreographed the same style. I guess I want to see originality, a choreographic scenery that nobody has ever thought of. Something embodied by their own creation, their own perspective in how it should be photographed differently from others, its more interesting and uniquely entertaining and fun that way. Because if you were to photograph your subject in the matter as someone else's body of work, its like plagiarism and it gets old. For me, I haven't really found my own personal perspective, that signature, I have yet to find my own ways of choreographing my own style in photography. I think its important to find that nobility and sense of creation, the essence of different that would bring new wave in the photographic world.

Strategic Planning

I've thought about this alot, while I am still having a lot of times in my hand, I thought about putting my time in good use. I've been doing some searching, and thinking what if I start my own business. Startled? Yeah, me too, but, I think I would like to try be an entrepreneur of what? Of a studio, a photography studio. Its a long shot I know, but with photography experiences I've already learned, I think that should count for a start, right? Again, yes, this dream is by far a long shot, like asking NASA if I could tag along to go on moon with them already trained astronauts, but I've been there, I dream a lot and I see people that I know whose lived their dreams and able to manage a content and stable life for themselves and for their families and I want that, not just for me, but for my family and future family. Since I have books that pertains and in relations to business managing and marketing, I can start reading and taking some ideas in hows and what not to do when starting a small business. I have not forgotten about financing, though its a long shot, that is something I'm wisely saving and putting off until that day.

We all know that life is so short, but we don't really take that seriously, like a fly landing on someone's food inside someone's house and not knowing that once they go in that house and a we see them, we deliberately without thinking, except their a threat to food, we splat them in a blink of an eye, we kill them. And we are no different to any species, we live once and susceptible to death, that's my observation anyway.

You might be asking why all of a sudden, this conclusion, this decision, and that it sounds so irrational and unbelievably outrageously impossible, but I truly believe in this, in what I can do, though I might not look like a person who knows whats she's doing nor is capable of knowing what she's doing, but believe I have looked in the mirror and asked myself that very same question in my head, and all I can really think of was... do you really want to leave your family hanging? For me, there is nothing more pleasant and honorable and great than being able help and show your appreciation to the people who have sacrifice everything for you just so you can be where you are now, despite the troubles and trials they encountered and the hard work they put through through jobs just to make sure you have a shelter to sleep in, food to eat, clothes to wear when you weren't capable of doing so.

Its gonna take a lot of courage, a lot of praying, patience and most of all, faith to get started on this dream, as I like to say, concept to come true and I won't give up until I get there, we get there. Ajajaja-fighting!

B-Day Session with Alimah Asia Rogers Part One

Yay! Finally almost finish with editing some of the photos, although today there was some minor set back with the computer I was using and have to restart editing some of the last photos...but, it's all right because I've got loads of time to pass time.

Almost everyone I know whose in photography, find children photography difficult because they move a lot and they don't have patience, they don't stay on one place, or you can't tell them to pose this way or that way, but I think that's the best part of photographing children, their simplicity and joyfulness help you create that wonderful and unforgettable smiles and moments they do, but at the time same, understand that its what makes them a very charismatic little being and plus, they love cameras, their very playful, there's not a dull moment when your with them and that's what makes it also exciting and I think fun. And missing every moment of that joyfulness can make it hard to fulfill what you're aiming to compose and I think that why others are not really a fan of children photography. Some photographer's find them a hassle, but I find them a breathe of fresh air. That's what I learned. I love children because they make you happy and feel wonderful and hopeful at the same time.

Anyway, I wish my niece a very Happy 4th Birthday this December 1st. She's really grown into a very bright and beautiful girl. Much love my Alimah :)

I am officially a boxing fan. I mean, I have watched boxing ever since the emergence of Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao back in his 2004 fights, but as I watched his fight tonight with Anotonio Margarito, it was a very exciting fight; my family and I were yelling and jumping in and out of seats every time punches were thrown by manny and antonio. Both did really great in the ring...such great courage, no backing down, especially for Margarito. Job well done, Manny Pacquioa, you made the country proud! Cheers!

Las Vegas Motor Speedway Photo Shoot

The Editorial class had our last field trip yesterday for the quarter. This time it was at the Las Vegas Speedway. Where we, students had the oppurtunity to work aroung the complex, except of course, the track itself. Where later we witness few of the most exceptional expensive sports cars ran the track.

It was a great day for a shoot and so did the photos :)

Lately

I've been having some difficulties fighting my way to stay in school, but somehow managed to win the battle. And I thank the Almighty God for that, if it wasn't for him, I'd be completely helpless and hopeless.

I've also been packing my stuff out of my apartment. Moving back to my family at end of this month. It will be sad, but at least I'd be reunited with my family and be able to attend church regularly this time :)

This time things will be completely different. I don't even know how lucky I am to have what I have right now.

Growing up as a teenager, I use to stare at a particular star that I would greet every night and smile upon on. It was the brightest star and biggest star I've ever seen...at least to me. I wish there were stars here in vegas...I don't seem to see many of them.

Jean Dry Lake Bed

For today's Editorial Class, we went to Jean Dry Lake Bed for a supposedly shirtless-bikini shoot, which none of my model friends wanted to do, but instead, eventually came up with I think really cool shots.

Despite the beaming sun casting on our asian skin, topped with black clothing, the fun humorous shoot made us forget the unpredictable devilish hot weather. Though, there were times I felt senseless and mindless on what and how I was to direct my models and the repetitions of sweats coming down from their faces, which created an unprofessional approach to my photo taking that made my models a bit anxious to just finish the shoot, made me realize I wasn't really in the mood to take pictures. That was a bad thinking....! Never make your models wait...the thought hit me. So, I gathered up all my strength and went to an uprighted conscious and remembered I had water bottles in the car and hurried in to grab them and gave it to my model-friends, in which unexpectedly played with the water and just started shooting from there.

Just had a shoot today with my friend Rachel and Korsyca. Got so excited about the photos and just thought I'd share them with you :) I should do this kinds of shoot more often. We all had such a great time despite the insanely hot weather.

Behind the scenes:

The concept of this shoot was to bring anime characters to life. The models had to ready themselves by doing makeup and hair. Making themselveslook the characters humanly possible. Cosplay is made popular by japan, and became a phenomenon around the globe. A Cosplay convention is also with held every year in San Diego and Las Vegas where anime-fanatics alike dresses as their favorite character and talk about all things anime.

On Location:

The shoot was taken on a small deserted backyard desert of an apartment, which was a great place for the cosplay photoshoot. The character is played by my friend, Korsyca Oya, and Alex Pulido who both played the good and evil role of the shoot. Despite the hot weather, everyone was stoked to get into action and modeling.

As a student/ freelance photograher, I don't really have a steady laptop, meaning, I would always borrow someone else's laptop to use when going off to do a location shoot. And its not always easy to pursuade, even though some are my friends, there's always that, what if this happens... I want to be able to have a gadget where I can be so comfortable bringing it to places, without not having to worry in bringing it back to that person on a certain time or day.

I have always been a huge fan of Apple ever since middle school. And now that they have really out done their selves with creating the most innovative gadget of all the apple electronics, the newest of all, the iPad, this sleek, lightweight and easy access to everything, I found myself really wanting and hoping for such a material. I am "Wowed" and impressed by this outrageously good-looking gadget. I don't even want an iphone anymore, I just want the ipad instead. Besides I've got my new black-jack samsung 3G phone, in which I really love.

The samsung 3g might not have everything the iphone collects, but it can be very usel as it was built within from internet, gps, and music and videos. So, I don't really care for the iphone, even though my family owns one of each. I rather go for the simple things when phones are involved.

But when talking about my work, I need easy and fast access to them. When I meet prospective clients, I want to be able to show them what types of work I do, in terms of photography signing. I want to also have the highest quality when my photos are viewed, and iPad has that perfect screen to show it off. I can just store all my work without having to bring usbs. I am a very forgetfull person, so I need things to be stored in one place, especially when there photographs. And most of all, I don't want the hasle of worrying if I can get signal just to have internet. I want internet access wherever I go.

So, there you go. My must have gadget for 2010. It will take some time for me to probably buy one, and I wouldn't even care if this becomes old school to the public. iPad will always be one of the hottest electronic ever, in my list, besides DSLRs.

Slacking

I look at my fellow photographer school mates and their work, I feel as if, I'm the only one who is different from the rest. And because theirs looks so good and I just think of mines as, its almost there, but not quite just yet. And now, I'm thinking I might have been slacking....creativity wise? Perhaps, maybe its because I've been feeling a little tense and I'm not delivering my best to my work as I had promised. I'm still in that "safe zone", in which I was suggested and told that I still shouldn't be there. I should be climbing and be deliberate with my work.

Though, sometimes, I don't want to do the same typical photos that everyone has doing, I'd like to find my own, my own niche, but that inspiration hasn't been in me lately. I've been feeling a little gloomy lately this month, I can't say much about that though, but its summer and I'm hoping being away from a certain place would help me rejuvinate my self esteem and turn my frown upside down into a smile again.

I have been working hard with gathering all my work by printing and sorting them into a file and editing them as well. Doing that makes me forget every sad moments in my life. :)

Well, here is the anticipated shoot of the month, the Nelson photo shoot. And I apologize for the delay, been feeling sick lately, I am hoping to recover from this uncomfortable feeling in body. Though this sickness sort of made me have a lot of times on my hand and so, I used that time by editing, as I had promised. I had two shoots that I have done last week and this was one of them, I still have a lot to edit wit the previous one, which was the dry lake bed. Hey guys!

Whew! We finally did our first Location shoot in the desert and it was hot, that was my first impression, of course. But good thing we were prepared for the heat, we brought lots and lots of H2o and eat before we left to our destination. All in all, weather was great, there were mid-winds that picked up some of the desert dust, but it was good for the shoot. I wanted wind to do some of the hair blowing, shirts blowing, and I got it. It made my job easier as well. Dustin and Melissa were very fun to shoot and patient, as well as cooperative. For this shoot I wanted to just create a portrait feel for melissa who was pregnant and advertising essence for Dustin. We started shooting at 6 and ended at 8:15 p.m. I would like to thank my friends: Jennifer Lafave, Korsyca Oya, Leslie Cameron Di Vanileyfor helping out during the shoot.and my fellow student photographer, Brenda Wilson for giving us a ride :)

Hello world!

How's everyone doing? Hopefully great! You are probably wondering what's been going on with me lately and why haven't I posted up any new photos. Sorry for all the delays with my blog. I was actually, looking up and planning on changing to a new blog site, which I found quite a few that were very intriguing to my eyes. I have, indeed, found a new site to permanently post up all my works and word thoughts into it, but is still in process of completing the new blogsite. So, stay tune for that my fellow readers! :)

Also in the hot news, I am so excited to finally have my very own fashion shoot this month, infact there are two and they will be both held next week. I have gathered me some of my creative friends to help me put this shoot together and hopefully it will be a great one! The crew is consist of Make-up artist, a stylist, my assistant, and other great friends who are also my friends from my school, The Art Institute of Las Vegas and also my models will be my sister, Girly Ann, and my classmate from speech, Dustin Rogers. For this shoot though, I would like it to be filmed, why? Because I want, starting from now, my work to be documented for educational and have learning aspect to it. So that I can look back at how as a photographer, I work in the field and perhaps maybe examine how I work and critique the way I work and this would give me the oppurtunity to learn from my experiences. So, yup, I'm very hopefull and excited about these two shoot I will be doing. One will be held on Dry Lake Bed and the other at Nelson's Landing. Well, now that I gave you guys the heads up, see you at the shoot!

Gloomy here in the West...but not in East

Nothing seems to be going right, here in the west. I've been to Hawaii, Washington State, California, Nevada and none of them feels right to me. My heart seems to be longing for the east, a place I only here about and see in magazines. I am talking about the city that never sleeps, New York City. Yes, I long for the Big Apple. It has always been my fave place here in the U.S. And now that I'm older, and almost done with school, well, maybe 1 1/2 I think is left and if more than that, then that'll give me time to save up and hopefully in the future, I can use that to land to NYC. I'll be working very hard and being a photographer, yearning to land a job in on one of the top news maker magazine, TIME, and if not, the National Geographic has a great advantage as I hear. After all, New York City is one the most photographic place in the world. As long as I have guts, assertiveness, business marketing plan, and humble prayer, I think I will be alright.

But as of right now, I will devote myself to make busy with my work. Learning as I go is not an option anymore, I think I may have to kick it up a notch. Its tempting to be weak, but it doesn't get me anywhere anymore. I hate the feeling of being stuck, not knowing what to do, and most of all, confused. I don't want to be confused when I am working, especially if I am at a shoot. No clients or business partners will want to appreciate you for it. Once is enough, but too many, then can't blame them for not wanting to work with you if you are not at the top of your game. For me, personally, its getting annoying, being shy, quiet, predictable, and uncreative...its unprofessional.

From now on, I will always keep my prayers, my family and New York City in mind as I work and continue my studies...their the only inspiration I've got in fulfilling my dream.

So I've been thinking a lot lately about how I'm going to approach every failure I encounter in my life especially when it come to my work...I can not be weak and helpless or even hopeless anymore 'cause their not getting me anywhere. Time is of the essence and I've got to pursue each opportunity that I've been given, but instead I just let it slip away and didn't take it seriously as I should have, I am talking about the works that I do and the people that tried to help me. My pride is too much and that's not always good. I will try to exercise in listening to people who knows their crafts and has more experience than me and start opening my mind to them. This is probably why I am having a hard time managing good sense of professionalism and creativity to my work. I've been too full of myself, thinking I can make it through without anyone's advice... and I don't want to loose their trust in me. The truth is, I still have a lot to learn more about photography, I haven't found that voice that symbolizes and shapes the kind of craft I'd like to do as a photographer. In other words, my photography signature.

I am very grateful to be a part of a photography team who expertise in Wedding, Portraits and Events, professionally, though,
a friend once told me that you have to be open to all genres in photography, so in that way, you can look back and see what you're good at and love doing. And I will always thank him for that. I am still shooting for the moon.

Not being able to drive and jobless makes it hard for me to do or go somewhere I want to go, especially when I am in search of a place to perform my photography in different locations and or being able to buy the equipments i want to buy. But moreover though, I'd like to at first really learn and know about my equipment and different techniques in shooting photographically, inside and out. That's where I've been slacking as a photographer and if I don't, I will feel like a fake photographer who just wants to take photos with no purpose at all. And I want my photos to have meaning and perhaps have a purpose. I guess I want to inspire people... that's all I want.

My dream as a photographer is to be a photojournalist and work for National Geographic and or Time magazine. I would love to travel different countries that I've only seen and heard on newspapers and magazines. I want to experience different cultures and meet interesting and inspiring people along the way.

As of right now, portrait photography seems to be the only thing I can grasp right now... and I am still learning.

Twin Sister...

I won't probably get a chance to blog on Feb 27, 2010, since it will be a busy day. So, here it is:

Its almost my sister and I's birthday. For those of you who may not know, I am a twin and her name is Lalaine.
Lalaine and I were born on February 27, 1985 in the Philippines. She was older than I am, rather, 3 hrs older. Sadly though, she died when we were just two weeks and three months old from a sickness. Every year, I would look in the mirror and pretend to have conversations with myself as if it the one facing me was her and both of us would greet each other a happy birthday. Now that 25 years have passed and knowing that she's not here with me to celebrate our b-day together always makes me cry and a deep secret of sadness would lay heavy in my heart.

Do you want to know why I want my family and close friends to call me Laine for a nickname? Its because it lets me know that she's still a part of me and that makes all the loneliness in the world go away. My goal is to visit her grave someday and sit beside her for awhile. I love you Lalaine, and Happy Birthday!

Last Saturday,Feb 13, 2010 was a dream come true for me because it was a moment I never thought would come, we the students of AiLV was invited a prestigious film event, The Dam Short Film Festival and the best part, it was a free access.

The Event

The Dam Short Film Festival was a great experience. It gave me the sense of being really a part of something big and important, and it was big and important. I have never been involved into something that greatly influence and encourge my profession to be even more passionate in all the work that I do and that being a photographer, is awesome!

After Film Screening

Having to see and meet all the spantaneous, multi-cultural people was a previledged. I have had the pleasure in knowing their creative work through their films (i.e, documentary, comedy, animation, drama, etc.) was very indulging and entertaining and moving to watch.

Although, during the event I was not much of a speaker, but I was in awe and just became a believer and an examiner throughout the event, meaning I had this concept in my head that this is what I want, this is where I want to be. I was also given the previledged to become one of the press, so I had access to all the activity that went the whole entire day. And there is this one particular gathering that gave way and tested my whole entire skill as a photographer and that was attending the press conference for the filmmakers and being one with the crowd for their red carpet arrival that one night and capuring the award scene inside the theatre of Boulder City. That for me was a moment of becoming a paparazzi, which was cool. It wasn't as bad as I thought (being a paparazzi that is).

So yeah, this year started out very impressive and I hope to continue being a part of or be involved to things photography. Its been a motivative month and I'm very hopeful for what this year will unviel for me and my future... =D

a favorite place of your own...

my favorite days of the week is sunday... because i get to go to church, then take a walk somewhere peaceful and maybe stop by a fave breakfast & luncheon restaurant and then stop by another fave locale store and chat with random, but nice people...and maybe take a photograph or two at a near by park. and today, i got to do just that. it reminded me my days while living in lakewood washington state, and salinas california. sometimes, i don't mind having a day to myself, and for me, its the purest thing a peron can do, and perhaps sacred because its knowing that moments and or places like those, even though your just spending it by yourself, is seldom found and captures your heart...and so you want to enjoy those moments and places that you've develop a founds and spend every single time of your day there...it might sound boring, but i think all us have that tendency of finding or having a place that sort of took them by surprise, in a good way and never let them forget about it. in other words, a favorite place of your own... =)

p.s. i know that today is valentines day, well, happy v-day to all who loves to be in love...keep them safe always. lol. ciao!

But because of the busy schedule we have for school, not a lot of us, students, have any social life, but that's okay. There's a whole lot of people out there for us to meet after school. You're probably better off with people whose passionate about the things your passionate about, or appreciate what your about, rather than having people who pretends to like your company, but they really don't. So to all the people who says they don't have a social life or need a social life, I say, don't worry about it. Just make your way out and you'll never know who'll be waiting for you...a good future I hope. And I know you will. =)

For days now I've been so anxious to know if at least one of my photographs got chosen for the exhibition coming January 27 (Happy Bday to my big sis Yehleen) and so I checked my email, like I always do every morning to see if my piece was chosen and tah-dah...Congratulations! Both of your pieces were selected for inclusion in the annual Juried Student Show. I was dumb founded. It made my day...thank you God. Thank you for everything. just found out yesterday that my apartment got broken-in to. i think its the lamest thing a person could do. although none of my stuff got stolen, i am very sorry to my friends whose stuff did got stolen. the thought of it frustrates and angers me. we should just request a move into an upstairs apartment. but i am relief that all us girls are safe despite the unfortunate event that happened.
